Tuning Your Mount
There are several things that you can do to tune your mount to its fullest potential. Our design allows for slight changes in the pin block and material for you to run your mount as you need.
For example when racing in the trucks we need the mount to operate as fast as possible, we do not care if there is a slight bit of movement when secured in place. But if you plan to keep your mount in place on your vehicle most of the time, tuning it to be tight and without any movement might be better for your mission.
TUNING YOUR MOUNT
Changing the Plates
While the mount is not installed, hold it at eye level and look at the corners.
If there is a space at the corners between the base plate and the mount plate this will allow for slight movement when the case is attached. This is how we run it on the race truck to remove and secure it at a quicker pace.
Closing the gap
If you want to run your case and do not need to have the speed as a factor when removing or securing, you can remove this gap but taking the base plate and bending the corners ever so slightly against your leg.
Doing this allows the corners of the base plate to put pressure on the mount plate keeping it free of any slight movement.
Changing the pin block
The holes in the Base Plate allow for slight variations in the pin block location. By changing how close the pin block sits to the mount plate you can change hoe quickly you can remove and secure your gear.
No Gap
By loosening the pin block and sliding it tight against the Mount Plate you can keep you gear as tight and secure as possible. Doing this makes it so your plate touches the pin block and might take some pressure to get the pin into the hole.
Slight Gap
By moving the pin block back so there is a slight gap allows for the plate to be removed and secured quicker. But this also allows for slight movement when secured in place.
This is how we run the mount on the race truck because every second counts.
