How to Measure

Terminology we will use-

Handle to Hinge: A measurement taken externally on the bottom side of your case or gear; the measurement is taken from the Handle side (Front)  to the Hinge side (Back)

Protrusions: Not all Cases have flat surfaces externally. They have varying ridges, reinforcements, and moldings.

Base Plate: The “Bottom” side of the Mounts. It has the Pin Block, rear lip, and will be bolted to your vehicle, boat, race car, airplane, tank, rocket, etc…

Mount Side Plate: This is the “Top” side Plate. This is the part that has the Detent Pin Guide, Pin Hole, and Internal Plate/Gasket. It attaches to the case, bag, cooler, Starlink Antenna, or whatever else you can dream of…

Pin Block: The removable, adjustable, and mechanical part of our Mounting System.

Internal Plate/Gasket: This internal plate that goes inside of your case, bag, etc… It provides a strong internal aluminum base, gives the gasket a firm surface to seal against, as well as an area to potentially build off of for any creative or custom applications.

You will need to finalize your choice of gear storage, we recommend doing this first. Once that is completed, it's time to measure… For example purposes, we will use a case.

-Flip your Case upside down.

-Measure externally on the bottom from Handle to Hinge.

-Be aware of any Protrusions

-Determine the physical dimension of the bottom side. Example: Case measurement is 13 ¾” then it will fit a Large Mount 14”

Pro Tips: Different cases have solid plastic protrusions; these can be trimmed or sanded down, providing a tighter and slimmer fitting Mount Plate to the Case.

A general rule we have noticed, most external measurements provided on case dimensions, the Mount will end up being 1 ¼” smaller than the dimension.

For example, Pelican Air 1555 Exterior (L×W×D) 24.76 x 15.46 x 8.24 in (62.9 x 39.3 x 20.9 cm) The handle to hinge measurement is 15.46”, however the physical dimension of the bottom is 13.9” and fits perfectly on our Large Mount 14”

Detailed dimensions are provided in each of the Mounts Photo sections. As always, take your time, double-check, and never hesitate to shoot us a quick message to get clarity.
